Student internships are available through our Center for Santa Monica Bay Studies at Loyola Marymount University. Student interns work with foundation staff to conduct scientific research and restoration work on numerous projects throughout the Los Angeles area. All college students are eligible. |Stone Canyon Creek Restoration||
Volunteer for Stone Canyon Creek. Help SMBRF and UCLA remove harmful vegetation and plant California native trees, shrubs, and grasses along the last remaining section of creek that flows through the UCLA campus.
|Wetland Monitoring and Research||
Volunteer to help collect scientific information about the Ballona Wetlands. Help SMBRF document what plants and animals currently use Ballona Wetlands. |Kelp Forest Restoration||
Volunteer for Kelp Forest Restoration This project creates stable healthy kelp forests that benefit our coastline. Volunteers dive year round off small boats to restore and monitor this precious natural resource. For more information please contact us via email or phone at 310-216-9826.
Volunteers are needed to conuct aerial surveys of boats off the coast of southern California. Surveys identify the locations, types and activities that boats are engaged in from Pt. Conception to the US Mexican Border. For more information please contact us via email or phone at 310-216-9826.
