Outreach and Education
 |
The over-arching goal of SMBRF's Outreach and Educational programs is to educate the people who live, work, and play in the Santa Monica Bay watershed about ways to restore and protect the Bay and watershed. SMBRF has a number of educational opportunities and programs for people who are interested:
Public Involvement & Education (PIE) program provides small grants for innovative projects that educate and involve the public.
Clean Bay Restaurant Certification Programhelps customers ensure that the restaurants they visit properly dispose of waste, make environmentally friendly choices, and take precautions such as frequent staff training to protect Santa Monica Bay. |
Center for Santa Monica Bay Studies Student internships are available through our Center for Santa Monica Bay Studies at Loyola Marymount University.
Stone Creek Restoration Events Help SMBRF and UCLA remove harmful vegetation and plant California native trees, shrubs, and grasses along the last remaining section of creek that flows through the UCLA campus.
Kelp Restoration Volunteers dive year round off small boats to restore and monitor this precious natural resource.
