Ballona Community Iceplant Removal Project
We need your help to remove invasive iceplant and other non-native vegetation from Ballona! Last year volunteers, partners, and staff removed over 15 tons of iceplant south of Culver Boulevard, and we need your help to continue restoration efforts!
Invasive plants crowd out native salt marsh vegetation and change soil conditions that inhibit native plant growth. During community restoration events, you will help remove non-native plants like iceplant, castor bean, wild mustard, wild radish, and yellow sweetclover making room for natives such as Saltgrass, Alkali weed, and Alkali health to grow.
RSVP is necessary, as space is limited. Use our Volunteer Contact Form to sign up or learn more.
