Implementation of the 1995 Bay Restoration Plan guides the SMBRF's current efforts. Key objectives include: implementing pollution prevention and habitat restoration projects, promoting cutting-edge research and technology, building a comprehensive regional monitoring program and funding programs to raise public awareness about Bay issues.
Already, restoration actions have resulted in improvements in the quality of the Bay's environment. Nonetheless, challenges to the health of the Bay still remain. Steady and long-term effort along with consistent funding for action implementation is necessary to ensure the realization of the Plan's goal of a healthy and restored Santa Monica Bay. Included in this portion of the website are details about the programs and projects that our organization has undertaken or managed in its efforts to reach that goal.
