Our vision for Los Angeles is a healthy and diverse environment resilient to climate change, and an active community engaged in stewardship and learning. The breadth and depth of our work span marine, watershed and community programs. Here are some of our accomplishments to date:
8,000+ hours underwater restoring 47 acres of kelp forest off Palos Verdes.
3,000+ abalone reintroduced to the kelp forest.
3 acres of beach dune restoration at Santa Monica Beach.
2,000 volunteers recruited over approximately 50 restoration events at the LAX Dunes.
247,570 disposable foodware items annually eliminated from four LA restaurants.
8,825 pounds of food waste from South LA restaurants diverted from landfills & composted locally at Environmental Charter Schools.
11 Los Angeles County cities annually recognize restaurants that go above and beyond legal requirements to protect the environment.
3,000 boaters educated annually on how to prevent ocean pollution by 220 trained Dockwalker volunteers.
