Tyler Rasmussen Named to The Bay Foundation Board of Directors

Tyler Rasmussen, an attorney and partner in the Irvine office of Fisher Phillips, has been named to the Board of the Directors of The Bay Foundation.

Free Mobile Pumpout Service for Boaters through Aug. 31 Reduces Ocean Bacteria, Properly Disposes of Sewage Waste

The Bay Foundation’s (TBF) Boater Education Program’s Honey Pot Day program returns, marking boating season and offering boaters a complimentary mobile pumpout service. In its ninth consecutive year, Honey Pot Day is offered from June 1 – August 31, 2017 in four Southern California harbors: Marina del Rey, King Harbor (Redondo Beach), Port of Los Angeles, and Port of Long Beach. …Since its initiation, nearly 1000 boaters have been educated about the adverse effects of discharging sewage directly into waterways and over 26,000 gallons of sewage (the equivalent to 950,000 flushes from a home toilet) were properly disposed….READ MORE

New Free App Helps Boaters Easily Find and Use Pumpout Stations to Manage Sewage, and Avoid Polluting Ocean

Boaters have two new tools that make managing boat sewage much more convenient and trackable. The Pumpout Nav, a free iOS and Android app, is designed for use while on-the-go and aboard the vessel. It helps boaters geo-locate sewage pumpout stations closest to their present location. The second tool, the Pumpout Report 2016, is a summary of monitoring data on California’s public sewage pumpout network. The Bay Foundation Offers 6th-8th Graders, Teachers Fun & FREE Tools to Check and Change Conservation Habits

The Bay Foundation (TBF) has launched a website open to all educators who work with 6th, 7th and 8th graders, providing a complete activity packet of tools to help students first identify their water and energy use, and then educate them to effect a conservation-focused change in their habits. This behavior-impacting program with its accompanying materials is funded by a grant from LADWP’s Community Partnership Program, and is the second such partnership grant through which TBF has created conservation-education tools free to the public….READ MORE
