The Bay Foundation offers many ways to volunteer in Los Angeles on projects benefiting the Santa Monica Bay. From monitoring wetland habitat and water quality to restoring riparian and kelp forest ecosystems, everyone can get involved!
Internships – Educating Future Scientists
Student internships for course credit may be available through our Center for Santa Monica Bay Studies at Loyola Marymount University. Student interns work with foundation staff to conduct scientific research and restoration work on numerous projects throughout the Los Angeles area. Wetlands Monitoring, Research, and Restoration
Volunteer to collect scientific information about the Ballona Wetlands and Malibu Lagoon. This is a unique opportunity to get field and lab experience while learning about the ecosystems of coastal wetlands. Clean Bay Certified Program
Help create program materials, educational tools, and educate the public at city events.
