Restore the Dunes, Meet the Birds: Santa Monica Beach Dunes Restoration and Bird Walk Event

Join The Bay Foundation in collaboration with Nature Nexus Institute and Los Angeles Audubon Society at the Santa Monica Beach Dunes. This restoration event will establish a healthy living shoreline that will provide habitat for native plants and shorebirds, including the threatened Snowy Plover and endangered El Segundo Blue Butterfly! After the restoration join Nature Nexus Institute and LA Audubon for a short bird walk.

During the Nature Walk, you’ll:

• Learn about dune ecology and why these habitats matter
• See native plants and wildlife up close
• Get an inside look at ongoing restoration efforts
• Ask questions and connect directly with scientists and bird experts
• Some binoculars will be available, all are welcome!
